Twenty-two years after the airing of Friends Season 10, Episode 11—the one where the stripper cries—a little-known behind-the-scenes injury has come to light. Gregory Jbara, who played the contestant on the fictional Pyramid episode, recently shared an exclusive story about Donny Osmond's painful fall and his determination to keep filming.

Jbara, now making his directorial debut with the film Original Sound, sat down for a Q&A with Collider where he reflected on his brief but memorable time on the iconic sitcom. While his role was small compared to his long-running part on Blue Bloods or his appearance in Oppenheimer, the memory of Osmond's professionalism stuck with him.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters shocks fans with a time travel twist in Season 2, as Axis Mundi enables characters to change the past. Kurt and Wyatt Russell's poignant scene deepens the drama.

According to Jbara, the episode was shot on the actual Pyramid soundstage at Sony. Osmond, who hosted the real game show, was used to navigating that space without the extra camera equipment and cables brought in for Friends. During the speed round, he tripped over a cable and fell hard. “We all gasped,” Jbara recalled. “The whole thing came to a screeching halt.”

Osmond immediately popped up, insisting he was fine. But later, during a break, he leaned over to Matt LeBlanc and admitted, “I really messed up my back.” Despite the obvious pain, he refused to stop production. “I don’t want to be that guy,” he said. “I want everything to go smoothly.”

Jbara praised Osmond as “no prima donna. A real team player.” He added that Osmond acted through the entire speed round while clearly in pain. “Love Donny Osmond,” Jbara said.

This story adds a new layer to the beloved episode, which also featured LeBlanc’s Joey as a celebrity contestant. For fans of Constance Wu Turns the Tables on Elsbeth, it’s a reminder of how even the biggest stars can show grace under pressure.

Jbara’s directorial debut, Original Sound, stars David Lambert as a struggling beat maker whose track is stolen by a rising pop star. The film explores the darker side of fame, a theme that resonates with Osmond’s own career highs and lows. With a cast including Bridget Moynahan and Eric Stoltz, it’s set to bring Jbara’s years of experience behind the camera to the forefront.
