Krysten Ritter is ready to dive deeper into Jessica Jones' world following her surprise return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. The actress, who reprised her role as the hard-boiled private eye in the latest season, has hinted that there's plenty more story to tell for the character—and she knows exactly where she wants to take her.

In a recent conversation with Collider, Ritter opened up about Jessica's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The season finale revealed that Jessica is now in a relationship with Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and that the two have a daughter named Danielle—a dynamic that could easily fuel its own series. Ritter is eager to explore what comes next, particularly Jessica's decision to reopen her detective agency, Alias Investigations.

"I think that has been the general feedback that I have heard, as well, that people are so happy to have me back, but want more. So, hopefully there will be more. I think that there's lots of story to tell for Jessica," Ritter said. "The way that we have built out her world, now she's with Luke Cage, and they have a daughter, and I think it could be a really interesting opportunity to see what Jessica Jones being Jessica Jones looks like, running Alias Investigations and having a kid and having that opportunity to have love in her life."

Ritter also touched on the emotional weight of Jessica becoming a mother. "I think having a child, I feel this way in my life, is such a big healing opportunity, and for Jessica, who's been through so much and so much trauma, to have that is really special," she added. This new chapter could provide a powerful contrast to the character's past, which was defined by her struggle with the trauma inflicted by Kilgrave (David Tennant).

A Detective Agency Worth Reopening

One of the most exciting possibilities for a new Jessica Jones project is finally leaning into her detective work. The original Alias comic series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos introduced a hard-boiled private eye navigating the underbelly of the Marvel Universe—a concept that the Netflix series only partially explored. A new series could correct that by having Jessica take on a variety of cases, from street-level mysteries to encounters with supernatural or extraterrestrial threats.

This approach would also be a perfect way to reintroduce other characters from Marvel's Netflix era. Imagine Jessica crossing paths with Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) or Typhoid Mary (Alice Eve) in her investigations. The idea of a fed-up Jessica dealing with Skrulls or magic is too good to pass up. It would continue the trend Daredevil: Born Again started, showing how ordinary people live in a world of mutants and monsters.

Family as an Emotional Anchor

Perhaps the most surprising moment in Jessica's return wasn't her fight scene—though she did toss around Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force like paper dolls—but seeing her in pink pajamas, a far cry from her trademark leather jacket and ripped jeans. This glimpse of Jessica as a mother and partner is a huge shift for a character defined by her trauma and drinking. It proves that Jessica has managed to build a life post-Kilgrave, and that evolution is a perfect foundation for a new series.

Ritter's performance in Daredevil: Born Again shows she hasn't lost her edge, even as she takes on new roles. In a medium that often resists change, Jessica Jones stands out as a character who has moved past her trauma and started a new chapter. Hopefully, Ritter will get the chance to bring this journey to life—and fans will finally see Alias Investigations in full swing.
