Da'Vinchi, known for his four-season run on Starz's crime drama BMF, has joined the series as Marcus Burke, a firefighter recruit described as "roguish and funny with a wry sense of humor; he's also a little defiant." The actor shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of his new character on Instagram, showing Burke in a black tee and turnout gear, as well as wearing a breathing mask while strolling on set. The post drew congratulatory messages from fellow actors, including Rome Flynn, who guest-starred on the show in Season 13.
Da'Vinchi's casting comes as Chicago Fire prepares for a season of significant changes. Longtime cast member Joe Minoso, who has played Joe Cruz since the series premiere, is exiting after 15 seasons. Showrunner Andrea Newman is also departing, with co-executive producer Victor Teran stepping in as the new showrunner. While a change in leadership doesn't always alter the story's course, it can influence the direction the series takes.
