While fans of the American Ghosts are enduring another mid-season break, their British counterparts have been celebrating a major win. The original Ghosts cast made their big-screen debut last month with Ghosts: The Possession of Button House, and the film has already become the number one movie in the UK. Now, North American audiences won't have to wait much longer to join the fun.

Collider can exclusively reveal that Ghosts: The Possession of Button House will be available for digital rental or purchase starting November 21 in the United States. The film will land on Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango, with Australia and New Zealand following a day later on Prime Video and Apple TV.

The movie brings back the beloved original cast and creators, finally tackling the classic possession storyline—a trope that has become a holiday staple on the American series. The official synopsis teases: "It's a spooky new chapter for the much-loved characters from the BAFTA-nominated series Ghosts. The ghostly residents of Button House are adjusting to life without Alison and Mike, but when protestors disrupt the construction of the planned hotel, the ghosts need to find a way to reach their living friends. Luckily, teenage ghost hunter Jack might just possess a way for one of the residents to finally leave the grounds – and save the hotel."

Written by the show's creators—Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, and Ben Willbond—the film also stars Lolly Adefope, Charlotte Ritchie, and Kiell Smith-Bynoe. It's produced by Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, Alison Carpenter, and Andy Brunskill, with the creators serving as executive producers alongside a team from Monumental, BBC Film, Lionsgate, and BBC Studios.

The Ghosts franchise has proven to be a global phenomenon. Beyond the original UK series and the hit CBS adaptation, the format has been licensed in five other countries, with successful versions already airing in France, Germany, Australia, and Greece. A Czech adaptation is also in the works. Both the Greek and German shows have been renewed, while the future of the French and Australian versions remains uncertain.

For those eager for more from the American side, Ghosts (US) is set to return with a one-hour Christmas special on December 10, followed by the rest of its highly anticipated sixth season in early 2027. If you're looking for a holiday twist in the meantime, the special promises to shake things up.

While you wait for the digital release, you can catch up on the season six premiere or revisit some of the best movies of the past six months to tide you over. And if you're a fan of supernatural comedies, this possession tale is sure to deliver the laughs and chills.
