The holidays are coming early for Ghosts fans. With Season 6 now in full swing on CBS, the show has already shaken things up by sending Sam (Rose McIver) off to Australia for a rom-com shoot, leaving Kyle (Ben Feldman) to run the B&B with Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar). But the real fireworks are reserved for the annual Christmas special, which promises to be unlike anything the series has done before.

In an exclusive chat with Collider, stars Rebecca Wisocky (Hetty) and Asher Grodman (Trevor) spilled some tantalizing details about the upcoming holiday episode. While they kept the specifics under wraps, they did reveal that the special takes inspiration from the ultimate holiday action classic: Die Hard. Yes, you read that right—expect some serious high-stakes chaos wrapped in tinsel.

Why 'Reggie Dinkins' Season 2 Is the Absurd Comedy Fix You Need
Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe are back in 'The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins' Season 2, delivering even more absurd laughs and proving it's the perfect '30 Rock' replacement.

But the biggest tease? A twist that will officially “change the world” of the show. Grodman hinted that the episode will have major repercussions for the ghostly ensemble, though he stopped short of revealing what that means. “It's going to be a game-changer,” he said, adding that fans should brace for something they never saw coming.

Wisocky echoed that sentiment, noting that the Christmas special has always been a highlight for the cast, but this year's script took things to a whole new level. “We were all genuinely shocked when we read it,” she admitted. “It's bold, it's funny, and it's going to leave people talking.”

Of course, the special also has to navigate the absence of Sam, who's off filming her holiday rom-com “Polar Opposites.” Wisocky and Grodman both praised Feldman for stepping into the breach, with Wisocky joking that the ghosts have been “ruthless” with Kyle, even more than they were with Sam. “We're running ragged all over both of them,” she said, referring to Kyle and Jay trying to keep the B&B afloat. “It's been a lot of fun.”

Grodman added that Feldman brings a fresh energy to the set, comparing him to “a new kid at school.” “He's so funny and such a great teammate,” he said. “It's exciting to have a new perspective in the kitchen with us.”

Beyond the on-screen antics, both actors took time to praise the incredible crew that makes Ghosts possible. Wisocky singled out costume designer Carmen Alie, production designer Zoë Sakellaropoulo, and director of photography Michel St-Martin, calling them “superheroes” and “geniuses.” She also highlighted the assistant directors, script supervisor Jess Lee (who just directed an episode), and the invaluable Gloria Cool, who keeps the ghost babies and muppets in line.

“It's a very intimate relationship doing this together with 250 people,” Wisocky said. “Every single one of them deserves a shout-out.”

With the Christmas special promising a Die Hard-style twist that could upend everything, Ghosts is clearly aiming to deliver a holiday episode that fans will be talking about for years. And if the cast's excitement is any indication, we're in for a wild ride.
