This sharp satire took home the grand prize at the Venice Film Festival Critics Week 2025 and has been racking up accolades ever since, including Most Innovative Film, Best Director, and the Audience Award during its festival run. Even Oscar-winning filmmaker Bong Joon Ho has given it a ringing endorsement, calling it “fucking great.”

What Is Straight Circle?
Hudson began crafting the script for Straight Circle as an imaginative and surreal exploration of what happens when borders drawn in the sand start to blur. Now, this celebrated debut feature feels more timely than ever, as Hudson takes aim at nationalism and unchecked autocratic regimes around the world.
Starring Elliott and Luke Tittensor (from House of the Dragon) and Neill Maskell (from Hijack), Straight Circle follows two enemy soldiers stationed opposite each other in the middle of a vast, featureless desert. Their mission is to serve as ceremonial symbols of a fragile truce between their nations. But as the hours drag on in monotony, surrounded by an endless, dull landscape, their hostility and boredom begin to erode their identities, loyalties, and the very absurdity of their situation, blurring the line between friend and foe.
Don't miss this chance to see one of the year's most talked-about films before it hits theaters. Whether you're in LA or NYC, this is an opportunity to experience Straight Circle on the big screen and hear directly from the filmmaker behind it.
