October is creeping in, and while Ghost-types usually hog the Halloween spotlight, Pokémon GO is giving a Dark-type its moment in the sun. The Tricky Fox Pokémon, Zorua, is headlining a Community Day event on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. For three hours, trainers will see a surge of Zorua in the wild, making it the perfect opportunity to hunt for that elusive Shiny version while racking up Candy and XP.

Community Day has always been about focusing on a single Pokémon, and Zorua is a worthy pick. Its mischievous nature fits right in with the spooky season, and its Shiny form—a rare prize—will be much easier to find during the event. But the bonuses go far beyond just Shiny hunting. During the three-hour window, players will earn triple XP and double Candy for every catch. Trainers at level 31 or higher also get twice the usual chance of receiving Candy XL, which is crucial for powering up Pokémon to the highest levels. Incense activated during the event will last three hours, though Daily Adventure Incense is excluded from the extension.

More Than Just a Shiny Hunt

Even after the main catching bonuses end at 5 p.m., the fun continues. Zorua will have a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lure Modules until 9 p.m. local time. Those encounters retain the boosted Shiny odds and the possibility of a Special Background, giving collectors another reason to keep catching. Lures last one hour, so a single module won’t cover the whole evening—plan accordingly. Additionally, players have until 9 p.m. to take advantage of 50% lower Stardust trade costs and one additional Special Trade, for a maximum of two that day.

Event Field Research tasks will reward Stardust, Ultra Balls, and additional Zorua encounters, with some tasks potentially leading to a Special Background encounter. For those who want even more, an optional $1.99 Special Research ticket adds further rewards, including three Zorua encounters with Special Backgrounds, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Rare Candy XL. The paid research is purely optional, so trainers can enjoy the main wild hunt without spending a dime.

Don’t Miss Sucker Punch Zoroark

One of the biggest draws of this Community Day is the exclusive move. Evolve Zorua during the event or within four hours afterward—until 9 p.m. local time—to get a Zoroark that knows the Fast Attack Sucker Punch. That gives players a limited window to decide which catches they want to evolve. Sucker Punch is a valuable move in both PvE and PvP battles, so it’s worth planning ahead.

Before Saturday rolls around, make sure your Pokémon storage has room and your bag is stocked with Poké Balls. The increased spawns mean you’ll be catching a lot, and you don’t want to run out of supplies mid-hunt. Whether you’re chasing a Shiny, hunting for Candy XL, or just looking to add a powerful Zoroark to your team, Zorua Community Day has something for everyone.
