For fans of Peacock's Vampire Academy, saying goodbye to Dimitri Belikov was a tough pill to swallow. The show, based on Richelle Mead's beloved book series, was canceled after just one season, leaving viewers with a cliffhanger and a lot of unanswered questions. But Kieron Moore, who brought the iconic guardian to life, hasn't closed the door on revisiting the character.
In a recent interview with Collider, Moore shared an exclusive update on his potential return to the world of Vampire Academy. While he's accepted that the series might not come back, he's more than willing to step back into Dimitri's leather duster for a deeper dive into the character's past. "My phone's available, if they ever want to do a backstory," he said, leaving fans with a glimmer of hope.
Moore's latest project, Vampire Carnival, actually brought him back to the same filming location as Vampire Academy—Pamplona, Spain. He described the experience as a "full circle moment," noting that it was both nostalgic and bittersweet. The film, which also stars Jason Isaacs, sees Moore playing a character named Eric, and it gave him the chance to finally sink his teeth into a vampire role—something he called "a dream."
One of the most striking connections between the two projects is the wardrobe. Moore admitted that wearing a leather duster again initially made him nervous, as it reminded him of Dimitri and the Van Helsing vibe. But once he saw himself on the monitor, he was sold. "That's really cool," he said, embracing the familiar aesthetic.
Despite moving on to new roles, Moore is still recognized for his time on Vampire Academy. "I still get stopped for Dimitri now, which is so nice," he shared. He credits the show with teaching him how to be an actor, and he's grateful that the character has resonated with so many people. "It's just an honor, really," he added.
Moore also reflected on the show's lasting impact, noting that new viewers continue to discover it. He mentioned that when his recent project Boots came out, people went back to watch Vampire Academy because of him and co-star Max Parker. It's a testament to the show's enduring appeal, even after its premature end.
For those eager to see Moore in vampire mode again, Vampire Carnival arrives on VOD on October 30. It's a perfect Halloween treat for fans of the genre, and it offers a glimpse of what Moore can do with fangs. And who knows? Maybe someday we'll get that Dimitri backstory he's so open to exploring.
