Prime Video is about to take us deep into a watery nightmare. The Devil's Mouth, a survival thriller starring scream queen Kathryn Newton and To All the Boys franchise star Lana Condor, just dropped an exclusive new poster that makes the danger crystal clear. The cave's entrance literally looks like a set of jagged jaws, ready to swallow anyone foolish enough to swim inside.
In the film, Newton and Condor play two of five friends on what's supposed to be a magical final summer adventure in Thailand. But when they venture into the remote Devil's Mouth cave system, they quickly discover that paradise has a dark side. A recent storm has flooded the caves with seawater—and brought along an unexpected apex predator: a shark that's somehow surviving in the freshwater tunnels. Silent, hungry, and deadly, it picks them off one by one as they get lost in the dark, winding corridors.
The poster captures the group's terrified faces as they wade into the cave, headlamps barely cutting through the gloom. They're completely unaware of the monster lurking just ahead. Joining Newton and Condor are Nico Hiraga, Gavin Casalegno, Tommi Rose, and Tayme Thapthimthong as their guide. The film promises a claustrophobic twist on the classic shark thriller—instead of open water, the characters are trapped in narrow, flooded tunnels with no way out and no rescue coming.
Director Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare, Imaginary) brings his horror expertise to the project, working from a script by Aja Gabel (Little Fish) and Myung Joh Wesner (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew). The producing team includes John Wick veterans Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee through their Thunder Road Films banner, ensuring high-octane tension. And to make the terror even more immersive, Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary—known for his work on Outlander and the God of War video games—has crafted the score.
As the friends descend deeper into the cave, their survival instincts kick in, but so does paranoia. The group begins to tear itself apart, with reason giving way to fear and sacrifice becoming the only hope for escape. It's a harrowing look at how quickly a dream trip can turn into a fight for life.
