Remember when Tim Daly and Téa Leoni ruled NBC sitcoms in the '90s? Daly was the charming pilot on Wings, and Leoni brought the laughs on The Naked Truth. Now, they're back on the same network, this time as a married couple both on screen and in real life, in the fresh comedy Newlyweds. The show premiered last month, and tonight, the honeymoon phase gets a hilarious twist.

In the series, Leoni plays Jeanie, a middle school science teacher, while Daly is James, a philosophy professor. Both are divorced with grown kids, and a mutual friend, Dan (Al Madrigal), sets them up on a blind date. The chemistry is instant—so much so that they tie the knot in Las Vegas during the pilot, much to the dismay of James's ex-wife Claudia (Jamie Lee Curtis) and the bewilderment of Jeanie's kids, Poppy (Emma Meisel) and Lolo (Ignacio Diaz-Silverio).

Rogue and Gambit Get Their Own Audiobook with 'X-Men '97' Voice Stars
Lenore Zann and A.J. LoCascio will narrate the Rogue and Gambit chapters in the upcoming audiobook 'Rogue x Gambit (An X-Men Love Story),' releasing February 9, 2027.

Tonight's episode, titled "We'll Never Have Paris," finds the newlyweds heading off on their honeymoon—but not in the way you'd expect. Instead of jetting off to a tropical destination, they're staying put. But James is determined to give Jeanie a taste of Paris, even if it's all in their heads. With the help of his assistant Arvid (Bill O'Neill), James transforms their home into a makeshift French getaway. Jeanie, donning a beret, is led to a "café" (actually their kitchen) and then to an adjoining room where a scale model of the Eiffel Tower awaits—along with Arvid dressed as a mime. It's a romantic gesture that's equal parts sweet and absurd.

Will this quirky honeymoon solidify their whirlwind romance, or will it be the first crack in their newlywed bliss? You'll have to tune in to find out. The episode airs tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC and will be available to stream tomorrow on Peacock.

Newlyweds has an impressive pedigree behind the scenes. Jamie Lee Curtis, who also recurs as Claudia, co-created the series with Gail Lerner (Will & Grace), who initially served as showrunner. Lerner stepped down last month, and veteran sitcom producer Bruce Helford (The Conners) took over the reins. The pilot was directed by Pamela Fryman, known for her work on How I Met Your Mother. Executive producers include Curtis, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Scott Schwartz.
