The Wild West is about to get a whole lot more prehistoric. Dinosaurs of the Wild West, a new series from the creators of Primitive War, has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign, giving fans a chance to saddle up alongside cowboys riding everything from pterosaurs to Tyrannosaurus rexes.

While Primitive War dropped dinosaurs into the chaos of the Vietnam War, this new project imagines a world where humans and dinosaurs have lived side by side for generations. Instead of fighting each other, they're working together to tame the American frontier. The newly released trailer shows massive sauropods, ceratopsians, and stegosaurs being used as pack animals in desert convoys, a scout soaring through the sky on a hairy pterosaur, and a cowboy riding a ferocious T. rex like a trusty steed.

V/H/S Goes Viral: SCP Foundation Horror Anthology Movie Announced
The V/H/S found-footage franchise is taking a sci-fi turn into the SCP Foundation universe with a new feature-length horror anthology, V/H/S: SCP, set for a 2026 theatrical release.

Narration from Cobra Kai's Jesse Kove hints that all is not well in this dinosaur-filled West. Both man and beast face a threat of extinction—one that's decidedly unnatural. The Kickstarter aims to fund the first two episodes, with stretch goals set to finance the rest of the series. You can back the project now at Kickstarter.com.

What Perks Are Available for 'Dinosaurs of the Wild West's Kickstarter?

Backers can get more than just a digital copy. At the highest levels, you can become an associate producer, enjoy a VIP on-set experience, or even design a dinosaur for the series. Other perks include a first-edition trading card set, a statue, and behind-the-scenes access to the making of the show. Last week, Collider also revealed an exclusive first look at an action figure of a raptor and rider from Creative Beast Studios.

The series is directed by Luke Sparke, who helmed Primitive War. It's produced by Carmel Imrie, Carly Sparke, and Luke Sparke, with executive producers Geoff Imrie, Eric Weick, Colin Hurdle, Kelly Clifford, and Luke Sparke. The world of Dinosaurs of the Wild West comes from the imagination of artist Shaun Keenan, who says the series "combines two of my favorite things."
