Fans of the Addams Family's most iconic daughter will have to exercise a bit more patience. Despite production having officially wrapped, Netflix's Wednesday won't be back for its third season in 2026. The streamer has yet to set an official premiere date, but all signs point to a 2027 arrival.
The series, which holds the record as Netflix's most-watched English-language TV season ever, completed filming on September 30. It's now deep in post-production, and with Netflix's 2026 release slate already mapped out without Wednesday on it, a return before the end of next year is effectively off the table.
Still Netflix's Biggest English-Language Hit
The first season of Wednesday remains a streaming phenomenon, amassing an incredible 252.1 million views in its first 91 days—a record that still stands. The second season, which dropped in two parts during August and September 2025, was equally impressive, with its opening four episodes pulling in 50 million views within just five days.
Given that kind of success, it's no wonder Netflix is taking its time to ensure the next batch of episodes lives up to the hype.
Who's Coming Back and Who's New
Jenna Ortega returns as the deadpan Wednesday Addams, alongside Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley.
Season 3 also brings a slew of exciting new faces: Eva Green as Aunt Ophelia, plus Winona Ryder, Lena Headey, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance. That's a seriously stacked guest list.
Co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have teased that the upcoming season will expand the Addams Family lore even further and deepen the world of Nevermore Academy. Tim Burton is back as director and executive producer, so expect his signature gothic flair to remain front and center.
While the wait might feel long, the show's track record suggests it'll be worth it. In the meantime, there's plenty of other Netflix content to dive into—like the final season of The Night Agent, which is also slated for 2027, or the new Gray Man spinoff Dark Union.
For those who can't get enough of the Addams family, keep an eye out for more updates as Wednesday Season 3 makes its way through post-production. And if you're looking for something to watch in the meantime, check out these seven movies leaving Netflix in November before they're gone.
