Batman is the undisputed king of DC Comics—the brooding detective with the coolest gadgets, the most tragic backstory, and a jawline that could cut glass. But when it comes to pure hand-to-hand combat, even the World's Greatest Detective has his limits. While Superman can bench-press planets and Wonder Woman wields godly weapons, we're focusing on the mortal heroes who can go toe-to-toe with Bruce Wayne and actually win. Here are five DC heroes who can officially beat Batman in a fight.

Bronze Tiger

Benjamin Turner, better known as Bronze Tiger, is a martial arts master who trained under the legendary O-Sensei alongside Richard Dragon and Lady Shiva. After a stint with the League of Assassins and later the Suicide Squad, Bronze Tiger emerged as a formidable antihero. His precision, agility, and control make him one of the few characters to have actually defeated Batman in combat. While their skills are often considered on par, Bronze Tiger's raw talent gives him the edge in a fair fight. Plus, that tiger mask? Pure intimidation.

Richard Dragon

With a name that screams '80s action hero, Richard Dragon is widely regarded as one of the most skilled martial artists in the DC universe. Though he hasn't faced Batman directly, his reputation precedes him. In a straight brawl without gadgets, Dragon's discipline and technique would likely bring the Dark Knight to his knees. It's a close call, but Dragon's martial prowess is hard to deny.

Lady Shiva

Lady Shiva is the deadliest martial artist in DC Comics, and she's proven it time and again against Batman. The two have fought multiple times, and while the outcomes are often inconclusive, Shiva has consistently shown she can hold her own—and then some. Batman even trained under her after Bane broke his back, which says a lot about her skills. She's lethal, unpredictable, and more than capable of kicking the Bat's butt.

Cassandra Cain

The daughter of David Cain and Lady Shiva, Cassandra Cain was raised by the League of Assassins and forced to commit murder at age eight. She later became Batgirl and is widely considered the best fighter in the Bat-family. Her ability to read body language and anticipate moves makes her a nightmare in combat. In a straight fight, Cassandra would likely outmaneuver Batman with her sheer instinct and speed. She's a true killing machine—minus the killing part.

Nightwing

Dick Grayson, the original Robin, has grown into one of DC's most skilled heroes. As Nightwing, he's faster, more agile, and often more adaptable than Batman. Their fights have been close, but Nightwing has proven he can beat his mentor when it counts. Whether it's due to his acrobatic training or his deep understanding of Bruce's tactics, Nightwing is a legitimate threat to the Bat.

While Batman remains the icon we all love, these five heroes prove that even the Dark Knight has his match. For more on Batman's legacy, check out our article on Batman's New Ally: Alfred's Final Gift Arrives in DC Comics and our ranking of Batman Movie Villains Ranked by Intelligence.
