Fresh Voices and Breakout Stars
Marcello Hernandez: American Boy (2026) marks a triumphant leap from Saturday Night Live to the stand-up stage. Hernandez brings his signature charm and energy to a special that explores his Cuban-Dominican heritage and his experiences as a first-generation American. His stories about his immigrant mother and cultural roots are both hilarious and heartfelt, making this a standout debut.
Hannah Berner: We Ride at Dawn (2024) is a bold and risqué special from the Brooklyn-born comedian. Berner dives into the messy world of modern romance with unapologetic wit, proving she's a force to be reckoned with. It's no surprise this special shot to the top of the streaming charts.
Stavros Halkias: Uncle Stav (2026) is a wild, unfiltered ride from the former podcast host. He tackles everything from the absurdities of the healthcare system to the prospect of being a "dirtbag" uncle, all with his signature chaotic energy. The special also features some clever visual flourishes and a hilarious scripted ending that sets it apart from the typical stand-up format.
Established Greats at Their Best
Gabriel Iglesias: Legend of Fluffy (2025) finds the beloved comedian in top form. Filmed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Iglesias delivers a more relaxed set, touching on relatable topics like dating and the horrors of air travel. It's a feel-good special that's perfect for a cozy night in.
Michelle Buteau: A Buteau-ful Mind at Radio City Music Hall (2024) is a masterclass in comedic storytelling. Buteau covers everything from parenting twins to getting high with her trademark honesty and charm. She's not afraid to speak her mind, and this special is all the better for it.
The Game-Changer
Bo Burnham: Inside (2021) is more than just a comedy special; it's a cultural phenomenon. Shot, written, and performed entirely by Burnham during quarantine, it's a raw and introspective look at his mental state. The special blends hilarious songs with poignant reflections, creating a unique and deeply affecting experience. It's a must-watch for anyone who appreciates comedy that pushes boundaries.
