Santa Claus spends one night a year sneaking into millions of homes, and we're just supposed to trust him? Horror has long questioned that arrangement, but rarely does the man in red meet his match. Enter Spawn—the hellspawn with a cape that fits right in with the holiday décor, chains that could double as tinsel, and enough necroplasm to make even the naughtiest list rethink their choices. Christmas just got a whole lot more dangerous for the jolly old elf.

Collider has the exclusive first look at interior pages from I Saw Spawn: A Twisted Christmas Tale #2, the explosive finale of the two-issue holiday horror miniseries. Written by Chris Killian and Andrew Sanders, with art by Todor Hristov and colors by Dan Kemp and Dave Kemp, this issue hits shelves on December 9. Two variant covers—one by Danny Ingrassia and another by Thomas Nachlik—add extra layers of festive fright.

LEGO's First Godzilla Set Is Its Biggest Ideas Build Yet: 5,363 Pieces, $450
LEGO's first Godzilla set is here—a massive 5,363-piece Monsterverse model that stands 27.5 inches tall. Priced at $449.99, it arrives November 27 with a limited-time bonus gift.

A Sleigh Load of Trouble

Picking up where last year's I Saw Santa left off, serial killer Charlie Kohl has possessed Santa, transforming him into the monstrous Santa Claws. His twisted mission: target the nice children of the world. That leaves Spawn with no choice but to crash the holiday delivery route. Our preview pages show Santa's operation has undergone some serious upgrades—his sleigh now sports a massive gun, his claws are razor-sharp, and those reindeer? Let's just say offering them a carrot would be a fatal mistake.

The artwork by Hristov is a chaotic symphony of holiday horror. Burning buildings light up the night as Santa Claws takes flight, while Spawn lurks among snowy rooftops, waiting for the right moment to strike. An elf foolishly charges him with an axe—a decision that ends predictably badly. The splash page that follows is pure carnage: Spawn's cape fills the sky, blood and body parts scatter across the snow, and a burst of green energy completes the festive color scheme. These pages are unlettered, but the action speaks for itself. Santa's delivery team just hit a major staffing crisis.

Covers That Deliver Nightmares

The variant covers offer two very different takes on the holiday horror. Ingrassia's Cover C takes a quieter, more ominous approach—Santa stands beside a Christmas tree, unaware that Spawn looms in the doorway behind him. Nachlik's Cover D goes straight for the gore, pairing a monstrous Santa with a blood-soaked Spawn holding a severed head. They join the main covers: Cover A by Rob “Sketchcraft” Duenas, which features an unpleasant gift from Santa, and Cover B by Marco Failla, which shows Spawn in the classic role of listening to a child's Christmas wishes—though with his own twist.

This isn't the only holiday horror making waves this season. Fans of the genre might also want to check out the Ghosts Christmas special, which promises a Die Hard-style twist. And if you're looking for more scares, the MGM+ hit From is now on Netflix, proving that horror is everywhere this season.

I Saw Spawn #2 arrives December 9 from Image Comics. Whether you're on the nice list or the naughty list, this is one Christmas tale that's sure to leave a mark—just maybe not the kind you'd want under the tree.
