It's been a while since fans last ventured into the world of Remnant. RWBY Volume 9 premiered back in 2023, but the path to a tenth season has been rocky. After Rooster Teeth shut down in 2024, the beloved anime-inspired series found a new home at Viz Media. Showrunner Kerry Shawcross confirmed Volume 10 is in the works, but details remain scarce—even for the cast.

At Big Lick Comic Con NOVA, the voices behind Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang—Lindsay Jones, Kara Eberle, Arryn Zech, and Barbara Dunkelman—sat down for a panel moderated by Collider's Maggie Lovitt. When asked about Volume 10, Jones was honest: "We can say that it's been announced that Volume 10 is being worked on. We have no secrets, or otherwise, so as much as we'd like to talk about it, we've got nothing for you."

Devil May Cry Season 3 Renewed as Final Season on Netflix, Completing The Force Edge Saga
Netflix has renewed Devil May Cry for a third and final season, completing The Force Edge Saga. Showrunner Adi Shankar reveals the series was always structured as a trilogy inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy.

While concrete updates are lacking, the cast did share their hopes for the series' future. Dunkelman wants to see more interaction between Yang and Sun Wukong. "For Yang personally, I want to see her interact more with Sun," she said. "I think Yang and Sun would be a very fun group... I kind of want to see them have a push-up contest." Jones, meanwhile, hopes for more uncle-niece bonding between Qrow and Yang, noting how much attention Qrow gives Ruby.

Eberle was the most passionate, advocating for the "White Knight" ship—Weiss and Jaune—to finally become official. "I've been saying since Volume 1, when Jaune serenaded Weiss with his song about going to the dance... Since then, I've always wanted Weiss and Jaune to get together," she said.

The cast also dreamed up a beach episode. "We keep joking that there should be a beach episode of RWBY," Jones said. "I want that. I need a beach episode. And Yang's lifeguarding." The others imagined Blake hiding under a dark umbrella with a book, while Dunkelman thought Yang would prefer snowboarding.

On the lore front, the cast speculated about the Summer Maiden. Jones dismissed the popular theory that Ruby's mother, Summer Rose, is the Maiden, calling it "too on the nose." Dunkelman suggested the Maiden might be someone fans haven't met yet. "I'm curious if we haven't met them yet. I think it's someone we don't know yet," she said.
