In an exclusive chat, Greyston Holt (Hudson Riley), Adeline Rudolph (Renee Birdwhistle), and Jasper Jones (Keno) dished on the season's most talked-about moments, including the betrayal that left fans reeling and the on-set mishap that almost derailed everything.
For those who've been following the Reacher spin-off, the finale was a game-changer. Frances Neagley, typically a lone wolf, finally embraces the power of teamwork, despite her crew's baggage. Hudson, a cop from a criminal family; Renee, an assistant with a missing brother; and Keno, a homeless young man willing to break rules, all prove they're more than just sidekicks.
The Fight That Almost Stopped Everything
One of the most intense scenes in Episode 7 is the brutal showdown between Hudson and Murphy. Holt described it as "scrappy and messy," a far cry from the polished fights we usually see. "Neither of our characters have a background in martial arts," he explained. "We're just trying to survive." The physical toll was real—on the last take, Holt twisted his ankle so badly he thought he'd be out for days. "It was kind of scary for everybody," he admitted, noting that it could have shut down production. Fortunately, a trip to the hospital and a miraculous recovery had him back on his feet the next day.
That fight was a turning point for Hudson, who ends up killing Murphy in self-defense. Holt says the moment is less about a change in approach and more about vindication. "He was put in a very specific situation," he said. "He was fighting for his life. I don't think he's going to go out seeking to kill cops now."
Renee's Hidden Skills and Emotional Toll
Adeline Rudolph's Renee also had a jaw-dropping moment in the alley, taking out two attackers with surprising efficiency. "She does have a background in martial arts," Rudolph revealed. "She's just never had to put it into practice." The scene was a first for Renee, who is rattled by the violence but knows it was necessary. "It was their lives on the line," she said. Fans were thrilled to see this side of her, and Rudolph loved bringing it to life.
Keno's Heartbreak and Growth
Jasper Jones' Keno faced his own emotional turmoil in the finale, especially in his relationship with Mandy. "The worst thing that could happen to him, in that moment, happens," Jones said. "This young man put his life on the line for this girl, multiple times. And to just have her spit in his face like that, that's brutal." But Keno's resilience shines through. "He gets mad, but he doesn't become cynical," Jones added. "That's the thing that I found most inspiring about him."
The Surprise Kiss and What's Next
The finale also featured an unexpected kiss between Renee and Keno, which fans are already shipping. Rudolph and Jones teased that it's an innocent moment, but it could mean more. "Renee makes it clear she wants to find her missing brother," Rudolph said, hinting at a potential Season 2 storyline. "I hope we get to explore that."
