Julia Moriston has had a rough go of it in Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Torn from her own time and trapped in the dangerous Highlands of 18th-century Scotland, she's been forced to navigate a world where her every move is scrutinized. And no one makes her life harder than the man she's supposed to call family: Lord Lovat.

In a newly released sneak peek from Season 2, Episode 7, titled "Heart of the Highlands," we see Julia trying to help Lovat prepare for a major event—one that will be attended by the king himself. But her well-meaning encouragement is met with cold contempt.

SNL UK Hits Season 2 Ratings High with Cynthia Erivo's Wicked Parody
SNL UK's mid-season finale, hosted by Cynthia Erivo, drew 116,000 overnight viewers, a Season 2 high, thanks to the viral 'Nigerian Wicked' sketch.

The clip opens with Lovat grumbling about his finances and the indignity of needing fashion advice for royalty. Julia, ever the optimist, tries to reassure him that the tailor will wait for payment. "You've earned this moment, my lord. You deserve it. I want you to enjoy it," she says. But Lovat's response is a slap in the face: "You'll not be accompanying me."

When Julia gently points out that a wife would normally be expected at such an occasion, Lovat turns outright cruel. "Well, you have an ugly tendency of inserting yourself where you're not wanted, of offering unwelcome opinions," he sneers. "If I can't trust you to behave at home, I certainly can't trust you in front of royalty. I will not allow you to ruin my day."

It's a brutal reminder of the power dynamics at play in Julia's life at Leathers. She's trapped, and Lovat knows it. The episode's synopsis teases that Julia will find a way to get back into Lovat's good graces, but after this display, that seems like a tall order.

Meanwhile, Brian Fraser is also heading back to Leathers to confront his father, adding another layer of tension to an already volatile situation. With Henry off on a quest for gemstones, the stage is set for a dramatic showdown.
