HBO's high-stakes drama about the ruthless world of finance is gearing up for its grand finale. After the network renewed Industry for a fifth and final season back in February, fans have been eagerly awaiting any news about the show's concluding chapter. Now, Kit Harington, who joined the cast in Season 3, has offered an exclusive update on the production's progress and what lies ahead for his character.
In a recent interview, Harington confirmed that filming for the final season is currently underway. "Yeah, we're filming it at the moment," he revealed. The actor, known for his role as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, expressed his excitement about the direction the writers have taken. "I can't tell you anything about the story, really, obviously. It would have had to have been a great story to bring me back," he admitted. "I said to them, 'I don't know where else you'd take this.' He's gone through the wringer, for me, personally. And they came back with this amazing idea. I'm really excited about it."
Harington's character, Sir Henry Muck, has had a tumultuous journey since his introduction. The wealthy but troubled CEO of the green energy startup Lumi has faced corporate collapse, sexual harassment allegations, and a marriage of convenience to Yasmin (Marisa Abela) that ultimately ended in betrayal. The Season 4 finale saw Henry facing fraud charges and house arrest, leaving his future uncertain. But Harington assures fans that the writers, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, have crafted a fitting conclusion. "They're really just incredible writers," he praised. "I think they're going to see this season out the right way, having read it. I think everyone is going to love it."
The final season promises to continue the show's signature blend of high-octane drama and sharp social commentary. "The final season is no different," Harington teased. "It's no different in that respect. You will be hurtled along, understanding maybe half of it, but just completely whisked away by the story. It's fantastic."
While Industry fans eagerly await the show's return, Harington is also set to star in MGM+'s adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, premiering September 6. He plays Sydney Carton, a lawyer caught in a love triangle during the French Revolution. For now, though, his focus is on bringing Henry Muck's story to a close. "It's astonishing," he said of the final season. "I'm really excited about it."
