He-Man has been having a stellar year. After Masters of the Universe roared back into theaters this summer, Mattel is clearly determined to keep the franchise in the spotlight. More than four decades after He-Man and Skeletor first clashed over Eternia, they're still finding fresh battlegrounds—and their next one is a card game favorite.
Wizards of the Coast has officially unveiled Secret Lair x Masters of the Universe: The Most Powerful Superdrop in the Universe, a massive crossover that goes far beyond just the two iconic rivals. The collection spans five separate Secret Lair drops, pulling characters from both Eternia and Etheria into the world of Magic: The Gathering. Fans will see She-Ra, Catra, Evil-Lyn, Battle Cat, Orko, Man-At-Arms, and many more join the fray.
He-Man Leads the Charge
Unsurprisingly, He-Man headlines his own drop, aptly named By the Power of Grayskull! This set transforms Winota, Joiner of Forces into He-Man, Champion of Eternia, while Delina, Wild Mage becomes Orko and Bruenor Battlehammer takes on the role of Man-At-Arms. The drop also includes He-Man's Battle Harness and a card called Crackle with Power—a name that needs no explanation for longtime fans.
Skeletor's Villainous Drop
Skeletor gets the wonderfully named Nyah-ha-ha! drop, featuring Tinybones, the Pickpocket as Skeletor, Lord of Destruction. His cards include Skeletor's Villainous Glee, Bottomless Pit, Evil Warriors' Shroud, and Rally the Evil Warriors—perfect for any villainous deck.
She-Ra and the Power of Grayskull
She-Ra also gets her moment in the spotlight. Her drop turns Sisay, Weatherlight Captain into She-Ra, Princess of Power, with Swift Wind, Bow, and Catra joining her. Collecting the entire Superdrop grants players the cards needed to assemble a Masters of the Universe-themed Commander deck built around She-Ra—a tempting incentive for completionists.
Allies, Enemies, and Accessories
The remaining two drops dive deeper into the lore. Allies and Enemies of Eternia brings in Man-E-Faces, Beast Man, Evil-Lyn, the Sorceress, and Trap Jaw. Meanwhile, Sold Separately is essentially the accessory aisle, featuring Battle Cat, Panthor, the Bone Throne, Sword of Power, and Command Tower as cards.
Each of the five drops will retail for $29.99 in non-foil and $39.99 in foil. The Secret Lair x Masters of the Universe: The Most Powerful Superdrop in the Universe goes on sale September 14 at 9 a.m. PT, available only while supplies last. Fans who spend at least $149 will also receive an exclusive foil Swan Song while supplies last.
