It's been a whirlwind year for Doctor Who fans, with the show's future up in the air and a cliffhanger that may never be resolved. But now there's a bright spot: Georgia Tennant, who played the Doctor's daughter Jenny in the 2008 episode "The Doctor's Daughter," is officially returning to the Whoniverse in a brand-new audio adventure from Big Finish Productions.

Tennant, who is married to Tenth Doctor actor David Tennant and is the daughter of Fifth Doctor Peter Davison, will reprise her role as Jenny in a three-story collection titled Zero Chill. The stories—"Relax" by Adrian Poynton, "Dancing in the Dark" by Daisy Aitkens, and "Fast & Fuming" by Lisa McMullin—are set to debut in June 2027. Joining her are Anna Lundberg (Tennant's Staged co-star) as the villainous Jexabel Glyce, and Sean Biggerstaff as Noah.

How a Baby Raccoon Made 'Calvin and Hobbes' an All-Time Great
In 1987, 'Calvin and Hobbes' delivered a heartbreaking tale of a dying raccoon, showing that Bill Watterson's strip could handle deep emotion with grace.

The official synopsis teases: "Jenny and Noah have saved space and time once more – so surely they deserve a break? But the universe has other plans for the Doctor’s daughter and her companion… Jenny’s old adversary, Jexabel Glyce, is scheming new schemes – and the two are set on a collision course."

This news comes at a pivotal moment for the franchise. The BBC recently put Doctor Who out to competitive tender, and the future of the series has been uncertain. However, Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio is reportedly the front-runner to take over as showrunner, with a potential return in 2028 or 2029. Former showrunner Russell T. Davies hinted that a decision could come as early as October 10, saying, "You’ll start to see production with a brand-new Doctor, a brand-new companion, summer next year."

While fans wait for the next chapter on screen, Big Finish continues to fill the gap with original audio dramas. This isn't the first time the company has reunited beloved actors—Derek Jacobi recently returned as the Master after nearly two decades. And for those who can't get enough of time-travel adventures, there's always a lesser-known sci-fi comedy gem to explore.

Georgia Tennant's return is a treat for long-time fans, especially given her unique connection to the show's legacy. Her portrayal of Jenny, the cloned daughter of the Doctor, was a fan favorite, and her story was left open-ended—making this audio drama a welcome continuation.

In the meantime, the last season of Doctor Who is available to stream on Disney+. Stay tuned for more updates on the show's future and this exciting new audio release.
