Finn Wittrock, best known for his chilling roles in American Horror Story, takes on a deeply personal drama in the upcoming film Westhampton. The first trailer, released exclusively today, shows Wittrock as Tom Bell, a filmmaker whose past comes crashing back when he returns to the town that shaped—and now shuns—him.

The footage opens with Tom being interviewed about a movie he made, one that clearly draws from real life. As the conversation turns tense, it becomes obvious that his film is a raw retelling of a tragic car accident that killed a young woman when he was in high school. Now, back in Westhampton to collect his belongings, Tom finds himself unwelcome. The townsfolk haven't forgotten, and they haven't forgiven.

Netflix's 'War Machine' Blasts Into All-Time Top 10 as Most-Watched Sci-Fi Thriller Ever
Alan Ritchson's 'War Machine' has officially become the ninth most-watched Netflix movie of all time, surpassing 'The Gray Man' and claiming the title of the streamer's most popular sci-fi thriller ever.

Directed and written by Christian Nilsson, Westhampton is a dreamlike exploration of guilt, grief, and the long road to redemption. Tom's film earned him critical acclaim, but in the town where the tragedy actually happened, it's seen as a self-serving distortion of the truth. Old friends and acquaintances feel betrayed—not just by the accident, but by Tom's decision to turn their shared pain into public entertainment without ever truly reckoning with it.

The trailer teases a tense homecoming. A local cop makes it clear Tom isn't welcome, and old wounds are ripped open as he tries to navigate a community that wants him gone. Yet Tom can't help but be drawn back into the lives of those he hurt, forced to confront the real consequences of his actions if he ever hopes to move forward.

Nilsson's film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year to modest praise, with Wittrock's performance earning particular acclaim for bringing emotional weight to the story. The cast also includes RJ Mitte, Jake Weary, Amy Forsyth, Joy Suprano, Sam Strike, Tovah Feldshuh, and newcomer Roxanne Schiebergen.

Westhampton arrives in New York and Los Angeles theaters on July 10. For more on the film, check out our coverage of other upcoming dramas like Tom Hiddleston Revisits Pompeii's Final Hours in Nat Geo's New Docudrama Trailer.
