Shark Week may be just around the corner, but if you're craving some toothy terror right now, the mastermind behind Sharknado has a new treat for you. Anthony C. Ferrante, the director who turned a tornado full of sharks into a pop-culture phenomenon, is back with Water Park Shark, a wild horror-comedy that takes the action to a Cape Cod water park. And we've got an exclusive sneak peek to share.

In the clip, chaos erupts as mutated great whites start feasting on park-goers like they're grabbing snacks from the concession stand. The hero of the day is Coach, a lifeguard played by David Chokachi—yes, the same guy who once ran the beaches on Baywatch. He's joined by his colleague Peyton (Chelsea Gilson, Dollface), and together they're trying to figure out why the water park has turned into a buffet. Meanwhile, two other characters discover the source of the problem: overworked batteries leaking toxic ooze into the ocean, creating the monstrous sharks. Just as Coach and Peyton think they're safe, a shark bursts through a wall, forcing them to run for their lives. Will they make it? You'll have to watch the full movie to find out.

Anya Taylor-Joy's Sci-Fi Hit 'The Gorge' Still Dominates Apple TV+ in July 2026
Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller's sci-fi thriller 'The Gorge' is still Apple TV+'s second most-watched movie worldwide, 17 months after its surprise streaming debut.

Ferrante is no stranger to B-movie mayhem. Before Sharknado became a viral sensation in 2013, he directed horror flicks like Headless Horseman, Boo, and Hansel & Gretel. But it was Sharknado that turned him into a household name, spawning five sequels—all directed by Ferrante—including the time-traveling finale The Last Sharknado: It's About Time in 2018. Last year, he returned to shark-infested waters with Great White Waters, a Tubi original about a grieving widow who encounters both sharks and drug smugglers on a scuba trip.

Water Park Shark isn't the first movie to make you think twice about lazy rivers and water slides. Back in 1983, Jaws 3-D turned SeaWorld Orlando into a danger zone, with Dennis Quaid, Lea Thompson, and Louis Gossett Jr. trying to survive a great white. But Ferrante's film brings a modern, over-the-top twist that fans of Shark Week will love.

If you're a fan of creature features, you might also want to check out the upcoming 'The Devil's Mouth', starring Kathryn Newton and Lana Condor, which promises more shark thrills. And for those who prefer their horror with a side of nostalgia, Freddy Krueger is returning in a new Nightmare on Elm Street movie from Paramount Primal.

Water Park Shark is available now for digital download or rental. Stay tuned to ShowtimeSpot for more updates on this and other upcoming releases.
