While fans eagerly await the return of Ghosts, CBS is serving up a fresh supernatural treat this fall. From the minds behind the beloved comedy, Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, comes Eternally Yours, a new family sitcom that puts a bloodthirsty twist on the classic sitcom formula. The series follows a 500-year-old vampire family and their extended coven as they attempt to navigate modern life while keeping their true nature under wraps. Think What We Do in the Shadows meets The Addams Family.
Today, we're thrilled to unveil the exclusive character posters for the series, offering a first glimpse at the undead ensemble. The show stars Allegra Edwards and Rose Abdoo, both familiar faces from Ghosts, as series regulars. Edwards, who played Pete's island girlfriend Donna, takes on the role of Liz, one half of the central couple, opposite Ed Weeks (The Mindy Project) as Charles. Together for over five centuries, Charles and Liz are bound forever—for better or worse—as their eternal relationship faces the ultimate test of time.
Their daughter Emma is played by Helen J. Shen, while Jaren Lewison brings to life her human boyfriend Max. The rest of the coven includes Parker Young as Jesse, a vampire who has repeatedly mind-wiped his human wife Phyllis (Abdoo) to hide his true identity, and their half-vampire sons, Henry (Shylo Molina) and Mort (Tristan Michael Brown). The posters highlight these dynamic duos, giving fans a taste of the quirky, bloodthirsty family dynamics to come.
Eternally Yours premieres on CBS on October 8, taking over the time slot usually occupied by Ghosts this fall. During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, moderated by Collider's Perri Nemiroff, Port and Wiseman revealed that the new series will follow in its sister show's footsteps with a Halloween special. While not yet confirmed, it's possible the special could air back-to-back with the Ghosts Season 6 premiere on October 29, which is also set to be a full-hour Halloween extravaganza.
For those worried about the fate of Ghosts, fear not. The show will return with its Halloween special on Thursday, October 29, at 9 PM ET, followed by a one-hour Christmas special on December 10. The rest of Season 6 is slated for a mid-season premiere in early 2027, though an exact date hasn't been announced. CBS has also kept the episode count for Eternally Yours under wraps, leaving the door open for the two shows to potentially air together in 2027, giving fans the haunted double feature they've been craving.
Port and Wiseman explained the network's strategy in an interview with Collider, noting that CBS likes to pair comedies together. They said, "The thing was, they have three comedies, and so they like to pair comedies with comedies. They wanted to launch Eternally Yours after Georgie & Mandy, which does well, especially the night of. It gets a lot of live viewers. I think Ghosts is the number one comedy on television in terms of eventual multiplatform viewers, so I think they wanted to give Eternally Yours a big launching pad, and now people will still get to see Ghosts a little bit in the fall, keep their appetites satisfied, and then come back with a whole batch of episodes in the spring."
With its blend of supernatural humor and family sitcom charm, Eternally Yours is poised to be a standout addition to CBS's lineup.
