Life in Texas has been anything but calm for Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon. The couple, known for their love of bar brawls and bull-riding chaos, is trying to find a new normal on the Dutton Ranch. But with a new set of rules and their adopted son Carter in tow, normal is a moving target.

In an exclusive sneak peek from Episode 7, titled "Den of Sin," we see Carter looking completely out of his element at a lavish 10-Petal celebration. The Jacksons, never ones for subtlety, throw a party that's as opulent as it is intimidating. Beulah commands the night with iron poise, while Beth and Rip deal with shifting loyalties. But it's Carter who stumbles toward a breaking point.

What Is 'Dutton Ranch' About?

Dutton Ranch follows Beth and Rip as they try to build a future together far from the ghosts of Yellowstone after losing their ranch in Dillon, Montana. But Texas brings its own dangers: a ruthless rival ranch and a social world where old money, loyalty, and violence are never far apart. The official synopsis reads: "As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together โ€” far from the ghosts of Yellowstone โ€” they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul."

That's especially complicated for Carter, played by Finn Little (Those Who Wish Me Dead). Beth found him outside a hospital and absorbed him into her life through sheer Dutton audacity. Now, he's trying to get through high school, charm Beulah's granddaughter (the heir to the 10-P), and find something resembling ordinary life while being raised by two people with a literal body count. As Episode 6 showed, Beth is still haunted by her past, and Carter's journey is a key part of the show's emotional core.
