For those who've been dreaming of a spectral pup with a glowing candle on its head, the wait is almost over. Pokémon GO's Halloween celebration is rolling into its second phase, and this year it brings a shiny new addition that's sure to get Trainers out exploring.

Greavard, the adorable Ghost-type introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, has been a fan favorite since it first appeared. Its shaggy appearance and the tiny flame atop its head make it hard to resist, even if the Pokédex warns against getting too close. Now, during the spooky season, the shiny version of this beloved Pokémon is finally making its debut in the mobile game.

Nicolas Cage's mind-bending A24 comedy 'Dream Scenario' is coming to free streaming on Plex starting November 1, 2026. Here's what to expect from this surreal gem.

When and Where to Find Shiny Greavard

Starting Sunday, November 1, at 10 a.m. local time, Trainers can encounter Shiny Greavard in the wild and through GO Pass and Field Research tasks. The event runs until Thursday, November 5, at 8 p.m. local time, giving you several days to track down this rare variant. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting your journey, this is your chance to add a shiny ghost puppy to your roster.

More Halloween Fun in Part II

Greavard won't be the only star of the show. The second half of the Halloween event features a lineup of wild encounters, including Litwick and Rowlet dressed in a Pokémon Halloween costume. Lucky Trainers might also spot Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume. All of these featured Pokémon can be shiny, so there's plenty of reason to keep your eyes on the map.

If you missed the costumed Pikachu with a hat and capelet or Sinistea with a bow during the first part of the event, don't worry—they'll be appearing in one-star raids throughout Part II. That gives you another shot at catching these festive variants before the celebration wraps up.

Don't Miss the Halloween GO Pass

The Halloween GO Pass continues across both event segments, with progression available until November 5 at 8 p.m. local time. You'll have until November 7 at 8 p.m. local time to claim any rewards you've unlocked. Keep those dates in mind, especially if you're planning to save your reward encounters for later.

For those who love a good spooky adventure, this event is a must. And if you're looking for more Halloween-themed entertainment, check out our review of Ghosts season 6 or the news about Halloweentown 5 coming to Disney+. There's no shortage of seasonal fun to enjoy.
