The NCIS universe is having a season of reunions, and the latest one brings back a beloved character in a way fans won't want to miss. In NCIS: Origins Season 3, Episode 3, titled "Return of the Mack," Adam Campbell reprises his role as a young Donald "Ducky" Mallard, but this time he's not alone—his mother, Victoria, is tagging along, and she's causing quite a stir.

The episode centers on a grisly case: the murder of a young Marine found on a beach with strange markings on his body. The Camp Pendleton team, led by Austin Stowell's Gibbs, needs an expert to help decipher the clues, and who better than the future medical examiner himself? Ducky's expertise is invaluable, but his personal life is about to become a distraction.

Taskmaster's Blindfolded Chaos Leaves Chloe Petts Bloodied in Exclusive Clip
Chloe Petts takes on a blindfolded obstacle course in Taskmaster Season 22, leaving her with bloody knees in an exclusive clip.

In an exclusive sneak peek shared by Collider, we see Ducky escorting his mother, Victoria (played by Caroline Lagerfelt), into the office after what he describes as an "epic" evening. It turns out that Vera (Diany Rodriguez) took Victoria on a bar crawl that Ducky couldn't keep up with, and the night ended with Victoria passed out on the floor of the Special Agent's quarters. Ducky is clearly embarrassed and annoyed, especially when Victoria starts flirting with NIS custodian Richard Kowalski (Michael Harney) on her way to the bathroom.

Her loud entrance turns Ducky's arrival into a family affair, and he apologizes profusely to Franks (Kyle Schmid), who is just trying to fill out a form. But Ducky can't help venting about his mother's "hedonistic" tendencies, much to Franks' irritation. It's a comedic moment that lightens the mood of an otherwise dark investigation.

This isn't the first time Campbell has stepped into Ducky's shoes. He previously played the character in Season 2, paying tribute to the late David McCallum, who originated the role on the flagship series. Now, with his mother in tow, Ducky's return is even more memorable.

But the nostalgia doesn't stop there. Episode 3 also marks a long-awaited reunion between Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly. This is the first time the two have shared the screen since Weatherly left the original show in 2016. Now, as the new director of NCIS, Tony is in a position of power, and Gibbs enlists his help to track down the person who shot him in the season premiere. It's a full-circle moment for the pair, with Tony using his connections to save his former mentor and father figure.

For fans of the franchise, this episode is a must-watch, blending humor, heart, and the classic NCIS mystery-solving. The dynamic between Ducky and his mother adds a fresh layer to the prequel series, while the Gibbs-Tony reunion promises emotional weight.

Don't miss NCIS: Origins Season 3, Episode 3, airing tonight, October 20, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Check out the exclusive sneak peek in the player above.
