The legal drama Cupertino is heating up as the tech giants of Silicon Valley finally take notice of the upstart firm Price, Siffre, & Associates. After a rocky start that saw Michael Price (Mike Colter) and Olivia Siffre (Rachel Keller) ousted from their previous positions, the duo has found their footing by championing underdogs against powerful corporations. Their first major victory came in Episode 2, when they cleared Vik (Nik Dodani) of blame in a drone accident, proving the company Moondancer was at fault. Now, they're taking on a new case—and this time, the opposition is bringing in a familiar face to make things personal.
In Episode 3, titled "Juno," the partners represent a grieving mother who believes a companion AI chatbot drove her son to commit patricide. The case comes to them through Natalia Boutella (Busy Philipps), as part of their funding agreement. But the chatbot company, wary of the firm's track record, has enlisted a secret weapon: Michael's ex-girlfriend, Nichole, played by Hamilton alum Renée Elise Goldsberry. As opposing counsel, Nichole is ready to go head-to-head with Michael, and their history promises fireworks.
Collider has an exclusive sneak peek at the courtroom clash. The footage opens with Michael caught off guard as Nichole strides into the building. Their exchange is polite but laced with tension, each subtly needling the other. For Nichole, it's not just about the paycheck—she's in it for the thrill of facing Michael in court, and she's determined to win. But Michael isn't one to back down. When Olivia arrives, he makes a last-minute call to have her handle the cross-examination, catching Nichole and her clients off guard. Given Olivia's stellar performance against Moondancer, this strategic shift could be their key to another crucial victory.
The episode also introduces Fisher Stevens as Natalia's billionaire ex-husband, adding another layer of complexity to the case. Cupertino, created by Robert and Michelle King (The Good Wife, Evil), has already made a splash on CBS. Critics have given it a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences have responded with a solid 78%. Collider's Therese Lacson praised the show in her review, highlighting the chemistry between Colter and Keller: "Colter and Keller deliver the most punch as a dynamic duo that has their own baggage that they carry through the series."
As the series continues to build momentum, fans are eager to see how Michael and Olivia navigate the treacherous waters of Silicon Valley justice. With Goldsberry's formidable presence and the show's sharp writing, Episode 3 promises to be a standout. Don't miss Cupertino Episode 3, airing Thursday, October 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
