"Apocalypse has many plans," he said. "Apocalypse is omni-present. Apocalypse sneaks up on you when you least expect him, and Apocalypse is always going to try and find a way to be the smartest person out there."
That cryptic response suggests that the X-Men's battle with Apocalypse is only just beginning. The Season 2 finale saw Apocalypse kill Magneto in front of Charles Xavier, leaving the professor devastated and setting the stage for a deeply personal vendetta. Rogue's sacrifice—losing her brother Kurt, aka Nightcrawler—added another layer of tragedy to the victory, but it may not be enough to stop Apocalypse for good.
