Speaking exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con during Collider's Showrunners on Showrunning panel, Dippold confirmed that the writer's room for Season 2 has officially opened. “The writer’s room just started this week, and it’s a great room,” she said. “Then we’re going to be writing for the next 20 weeks.” When asked if that means cameras will roll early next year, she replied, “Yes, exactly,” setting a 2027 filming timeline.
The renewal was announced just six days before the Season 1 finale, and Dippold admitted it came as a relief. “It was pretty close to when they announced it that it became official, but I was still always hoping and thinking about it,” she shared. The show's steady climb up Apple TV's streaming charts throughout its first season made the decision a no-brainer for the network.
Who's returning for Season 2?
While the cast for the new season hasn't been officially announced, the first season's ensemble earned six Emmy nominations. Matthew Rhys is up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, while Stephen Root and Kate O'Flynn are nominated for supporting roles. Dale Dickey also earned a nod, and guest stars Hamish Linklater and Betty Gilpin were recognized in their categories.
