Timothy Olyphant is a man in demand, juggling the final season of Lucky on Apple TV and gearing up for the second season of Alien: Earth on FX and Hulu. But he always makes time for a trip to a galaxy far, far away. After reprising Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval, he's now set to revisit his Star Wars roots in an upcoming animated adventure.

Olyphant first entered the Star Wars universe in season two of The Mandalorian, playing the scrappy lawman Cobb Vanth. Hailing from the desert world of Tatooine, Vanth stumbled upon Boba Fett's discarded armor and decided to wear it, becoming the marshal of the remote settlement of Mos Pelgo. When Din Djarin came calling to reclaim the armor, Vanth handed it over after the Mandalorian helped him and the townsfolk take down a rampaging Krayt dragon. Later, in The Book of Boba Fett, Vanth was gunned down by the ruthless Cad Bane, but he survived and was last seen recovering in a bacta tank.

Joel Kinnaman's 'Icefall' Hits Prime Video in August 2026
Joel Kinnaman's 'Icefall' is now streaming on Prime Video. A game warden and a poacher clash over a crashed plane's treasure in the frozen wild.

Now, Olyphant is slipping back into Vanth's boots for LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, a new animated special that puts a playful spin on the hit live-action series. The LEGO Star Wars specials have been a fan favorite since 2005, covering everything from Kylo Ren to the obscure green rabbit Jaxxon. This time, they're tackling the story of Din Djarin and Grogu with their signature humor and charm.

The special boasts an impressive voice cast, with many actors returning from the live-action show. Alongside Olyphant, fans will hear Nick Nolte as Kuill, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Bill Burr as Migs Mayfield, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, David Pasquesi as the Majordomo, Taika Waititi as IG-11, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Carson Teva, and Emily Swallow as the Armorer. Notably, Carl Lumbly steps in to voice Greef Karga, taking over the role from the late Carl Weathers.

Mark your calendars for September 2, because that's when LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian drops exclusively on Disney+. And that's not all—the same day brings the streaming debut of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the theatrical film that hit cinemas this past summer. Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie follows Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young charge Grogu as they're pulled out of retirement to hunt down fugitive Imperial warlords. Their mission entangles them in the dangerous politics of the Hutt crime families, with various claimants vying for control of Jabba the Hutt's empire and seeking out his heir, Rotta (voiced by Jeremy Allen White).

For fans of the LEGO Star Wars specials, this is a must-watch, offering a fresh, comedic take on the beloved series. And with Olyphant back in the fold, it's a treat for those who've followed Cobb Vanth's journey from the live-action shows to this animated escapade.

Stay tuned for more updates on this and other Star Wars projects, including the upcoming August 2026 anime lineup and other streaming highlights. For now, get ready to see your favorite Mandalorian characters in a whole new light.
