Alan Cumming may have cornered the market on reality TV hosting with The Traitors, but Hulu is throwing its hat in the ring with a new series that swaps Scottish castles for an Italian villa and brings a different kind of star power to the table. The Mob, which premiered on October 26, is a high-stakes competition that unites reality TV favorites and even a Sopranos alum in a battle to become the next don.
Hosted by Parker Posey, fresh off her Emmy nomination for The White Lotus, the show challenges players with tasks straight out of mob movies. The prize? Up to $250,000 and the title of don, which comes with the power to divvy up cash, reward loyalty, or "whack" a competitor. It's cutthroat, but as a new exclusive clip reveals, it can also get delightfully silly.
A Recipe for Disaster
In the sneak peek shared by Collider, Maria Georgas from The Bachelor and Harry Jowsey from Too Hot to Handle are paired up for a cooking challenge. Their mission: prepare eggplant caponata with rosemary crackers. The only problem? Neither has a clue what caponata even is.
As the kitchen erupts in chaos, Georgas is stuck on the basics—like how to roast an eggplant—while Jowsey openly admits the kitchen is the last place they belong. It's Georgas who eventually takes the lead, relying on the one dish she can actually make, but their chances of impressing the don seem slim. The clip is a perfect example of how The Mob blends high stakes with laugh-out-loud moments.
The Full Roster
With four of eight episodes already aired, The Mob has seen some early eliminations, but the competition is far from over. Alongside Georgas and Jowsey, the cast includes:
- Willam Belli (RuPaul's Drag Race)
- Demi Engemann (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives)
- Joe Gorga (The Real Housewives of New Jersey)
- Chelsea Lazkani (Selling Sunset)
- Debi Mazar (Younger)
- Bella Palk (Love Overboard)
- Shane Parton (Bachelor Nation)
- Bruno Tonioli (Dancing With the Stars)
- Aida Turturro, who played the sister of James Gandolfini's Tony Soprano
The series comes from Studio Lambert, the team behind The Traitors, and Primal Media, with a concept by Adam Wood and Mat Steiner. Reality TV veteran Susan House serves as showrunner.
If you're a fan of how The Traitors is changing the reality TV landscape, The Mob offers a fresh twist on the genre. And for those who love a good celebrity mishap, this kitchen scene is a must-watch. New episodes of The Mob are streaming on Hulu now.
