Paramount+ has finally unveiled the first official trailer for Season 2 of The Agency, its critically acclaimed spy thriller that blends the psychological depth of Mindhunter with the high-stakes action of the Jason Bourne films. The series, which stars Michael Fassbender as a CIA agent living undercover, will return on June 21, 2026.

The show follows Martian (Fassbender), a deep-cover operative whose personal and professional lives collide when his lover, Samia (Jodie Turner-Smith), becomes a political prisoner in Sudan. The official synopsis teases: “The only way out is deeper in. A knife-edge Martian must walk if he is to save love, life, and his mission.”

Fassbender, who took a four-year hiatus from acting before returning in David Fincher’s The Killer (2023), has been busy filming the Netflix political thriller Kennedy, expected later this year or early 2027. Beyond Fassbender, The Agency boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Jeffrey Wright, Richard Gere, Katherine Waterson, Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, and Saura Lightfoot-Leon. Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville also guest star. The series was created by John-Henry and Jez Butterworth, known for their sharp, character-driven storytelling.

Despite premiering alongside Taylor Sheridan’s Landman, The Agency quickly became one of Paramount+’s most-watched titles in late 2024. The streamer renewed the show for a second season while the first was still airing, and anticipation has only grown since the Season 1 finale.
