Star Trek is marking its 60th anniversary in a big way, and now it's boldly going where it hasn't gone before: into the world of collectible card games. The franchise is teaming up with Wizards of the Coast for a special Magic: The Gathering set that brings together some of the most beloved characters from across the Trek universe.
This isn't just any crossover. The set will feature a who's who of Star Trek captains, including Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, and Archer, along with a host of other iconic characters. It's a massive celebration of six decades of television and film, from the original series to the latest streaming adventures.
What's in the Star Trek Magic: The Gathering Set?
The new set is packed with cards that span the entire franchise. Expect to see the USS Enterprise from The Original Series, the Borg Cube from The Next Generation, and even Quark's Bar from Deep Space Nine. Classic episodes like "Amok Time," "The City on the Edge of Forever," and "In the Pale Moonlight" are also getting their own cards, offering a nostalgic trip through Trek's greatest moments.
For collectors, there's a lot to get excited about. The main set includes 81 common, 110 uncommon, 80 rare, and 25 mythic rare cards. Each Commander deck comes with 31 rares and 2 mythic rares. Plus, there are seven special Headliner cards, each signed by an iconic Star Trek actor. These signed cards are incredibly rare, with fewer than 250 of each in existence.
How to Get Your Hands on These Cards
There will be plenty of options for fans and players alike. You can pick up booster boxes, regular and collector's edition Commander Decks, super-sized bundles, and beautifully illustrated scene boxes. Whether you're a seasoned Magic player or a Trek fan looking to dive in, there's something for everyone.
The set hits store shelves on November 13, just in time for the anniversary celebrations. Will you be able to outsmart the Kobayashi Maru scenario, or will you face a defeat as devastating as Wolf 359? Only time will tell.
More Star Trek 60th Anniversary Celebrations
The Magic: The Gathering set is just one part of a year-long celebration. The franchise kicked off 2026 with a float in the Rose Bowl Parade, and it's been going strong ever since. New seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy are on the way, with their final seasons debuting on Paramount+ next year. IDW has also been busy with a slew of Trek comics, including the long-awaited continuation of Star Trek: Picard and the shocking return of Captain Kirk in The Last Starship.
