Prime Video has dropped a fresh trailer for Spider-Noir, and it's packed with villainous reveals that have fans buzzing. The Nicolas Cage-led series, set in a gritty 1930s New York City, officially confirms four major antagonists: Silvermane, Sandman, Tombstone, and the electrifying Megawatt. This marks a significant expansion of the Spider-Verse into live-action territory, with Cage reprising his role as Ben Reilly from the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The trailer debuted at Sony's presentation at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace, where the studio also teased upcoming projects like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. For Spider-Noir, the focus is on a retired superhero forced back into action. Ben Reilly, once known as the Spider, now works as a struggling private detective. But when a mysterious case lands on his desk, he must don the mask one last time to confront a rogues' gallery that includes some of Spider-Man's most iconic foes.
The villain lineup is a mix of classic and fresh faces. Silvermane, the aging crime boss, brings a ruthless mobster energy to the Depression-era setting. Sandman, a fan-favorite shape-shifter, gets a noir makeover that fits the period aesthetic. Tombstone, the hulking enforcer, adds muscle, while Megawatt introduces a high-voltage threat that promises spectacular action sequences. Together, they create a formidable challenge for Cage's weary hero.
Behind the scenes, the series boasts heavyweight producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, who previously struck gold with the Spider-Verse films. Oren Uziel (The Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) co-developed the series and serve as co-showrunners, ensuring a blend of sharp writing and gritty tone.
