Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are reuniting for a new project, but this time they're trading superhero suits for sailing gear. The duo, who recently wowed audiences as Deadpool and Wolverine, are set to executive produce and star in a Disney+ docuseries about their real-life SailGP team, the BONDS Flying Roos.

The series, which has been greenlit by Disney+, will follow the team across a global racing season. According to an official press release, viewers can expect "speed, pressure and high stakes" as the 50-foot catamarans race at speeds up to 100 km/h on close-to-shore courses. The show aims to blend "humor, pressure, and behind-the-scenes access" to give fans an inside look at one of the world's most demanding sports leagues.

Spider-Noir Smashes Prime Video Records with 851 Million Minutes Watched in First Week
Prime Video's Spider-Noir series has become an instant hit, racking up 851 million minutes watched in its first week, according to Nielsen data.

Leading the BONDS Flying Roos is Tom Slingsby, an Olympic gold medalist and one of the most decorated sailors in history. Slingsby received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2014 for his service to sport. The series will also feature Reynolds and Jackman as co-owners, adding their signature charm and wit to the proceedings.

This isn't the first time Reynolds and Jackman have worked together. Their on-screen partnership began in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Jackman later made a cameo in Reynolds' 2021 film Free Guy. Their most recent collaboration, Deadpool & Wolverine, was a massive success, grossing over $1.3 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film ever. The film also earned a 77% Certified Fresh Critics' Score and a 94% Verified Hot Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes.

While the duo's Marvel characters are now part of the MCU, there's no official word on whether Deadpool and Wolverine will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. However, rumors persist that Reynolds might join the next MCU team-up. For now, fans can look forward to seeing them in a completely different arena—the high seas.

The docuseries is produced by Rob Mac, who also serves as co-chairman of Wrexham AFC and executive producer of Welcome to Wrexham. This connection adds another layer of sports storytelling expertise to the project.

For those eager to see more of Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine is currently streaming on Disney+. The untitled SailGP docuseries has no official release date yet but will be available on Disney+ and Hulu for U.S. viewers.
