During a packed panel for The Vampire Lestat—the third season of what began as Interview with the Vampire—the network confirmed that the series will return for a fourth season. And it's got a new name: Queen of the Damned, directly adapting Rice's iconic novel.
The announcement came with a haunting teaser that shows Akasha (Sheila Atim) answering the call of women across the world, declaring herself the answer to their suffering. It's a chilling setup for what promises to be a seismic shift in the Immortal Universe.
A New Chapter for the Vampire Chronicles
Season 3, which aired under the title The Vampire Lestat, followed the rock-star vampire as he took his story public, forming a band and going on tour. The season finale ended with Lestat's grand concert awakening the ancient Queen of the Damned. Now, Season 4 will pick up that thread, diving into Rice's sprawling mythology of the first vampire.
Hannah Moscovitch, who wrote for Akasha in Season 3, will take over as showrunner from series creator Rolin Jones. It's a natural transition—Moscovitch has been a key writer since the show's first season and knows the character's dark allure intimately.
