2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for Spider-Man fans, with Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day hitting theaters and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man returning to Disney+. But before all that, Prime Video and MGM+ are taking the web-slinger in a radically different direction with Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage as the hard-boiled detective Ben Reilly. The series premieres May 25 on MGM+ in the U.S. and globally on Prime Video May 27.
At CCXP Mexico in Mexico City, attendees got an exclusive look at a brand-new trailer that has since dropped online. The footage plunges viewers into a rain-slicked, monochrome 1930s New York, where Cage's Ben Reilly—a down-on-his-luck detective with a tragic past—navigates a city crawling with corruption and monsters. Haunted by the death of his wife, Reilly must overcome his own demons to protect a city that doesn't trust him.
A Rogue's Gallery Like No Other
The trailer highlights the series' terrifying villains, reimagined for this gritty noir setting. Chief among them is Silvermane, played by Oscar nominee Brendan Gleeson, a crime boss who offers a twisted form of order. Also lurking in the shadows are Flint Marko, aka Sandman (Jack Huston), Lonnie Lincoln, aka Tombstone (Abraham Popoola), and the live-action debut of Dirk Leydon, aka Megawatt (Andrew Caldwell), who shocks Ben in a crowd. A quick glimpse of Man-Spider biting Reilly's arm suggests this investigation will go to places no Spider-Man adaptation has dared.
Cat Hardy and the Cast
Li Jun Li plays Cat Hardy, a classic femme fatale who hires Ben to find a missing friend—but their relationship may become more intimate. Lamorne Morris and Karen Rodriguez round out the main cast, with guest stars including Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, and Cary Christopher. The series is co-showrun by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, developed alongside Spider-Verse creators Christopher Miller, Phil Lord, and producer Amy Pascal. Two-time Emmy winner Harry Bradbeer directs the first two episodes.
