Jon Bernthal is having a banner year in 2026, with major roles in The Punisher: One Last Kill and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the latter of which grossed over $2 billion worldwide. But not every project in his filmography has enjoyed that level of box office glory. One of his earlier collaborations with Taylor Sheridan—the mind behind Yellowstone—is about to disappear from Netflix, and fans have only a short window to catch it.
Those Who Wish Me Dead, a 2021 Western thriller directed and written by Sheridan, is officially set to leave Netflix on November 30, 2026. The film, which also stars Oscar winner Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Hoult, was added to the streamer earlier this year and quickly became one of the platform's most-watched movies of the summer. But as with all licensed content, its time on Netflix is finite.
The movie follows Hannah (Jolie), a smokejumper still haunted by a past rescue gone wrong. When she stumbles upon a traumatized 12-year-old boy (Finn Little) who has nowhere to turn, she becomes his unlikely protector in the Montana wilderness. Bernthal plays a sheriff's deputy caught in the crossfire, while Hoult and Aidan Gillen (of Game of Thrones fame) portray the antagonists pursuing the boy.
Despite its star-studded cast and Sheridan's pedigree, Those Who Wish Me Dead only managed to gross about $19 million at the global box office, largely due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic theater restrictions in 2021. However, it found a second life on streaming, earning a 63% critics' score and an 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film's tense, character-driven narrative and stunning visuals have made it a favorite among thriller fans.
If you haven't seen it yet, now is the time. The movie will be removed from Netflix on November 30, so you have just a few weeks to stream it. Bernthal's recent box office dominance with The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows his range, but Those Who Wish Me Dead remains a standout in his filmography—a gritty, emotional thriller that showcases his dramatic chops alongside Jolie's powerhouse performance.
