It's been a decade since the zombie craze peaked, but one series stood out by blending crime-solving with the undead. iZombie, the CW's cult favorite, has officially landed on Prime Video in the United States, with all five seasons available to stream starting November 1, 2026. If you missed it the first time or want to revisit the quirky blend of mystery and horror, now's your chance.

Developed by Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright, the show is based on the DC Comics series by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred. It originally aired from 2015 to 2019, carving out a niche as a lighter, more procedural take on the zombie genre. Instead of a grim apocalypse, iZombie offers a witty, character-driven story with a supernatural twist.

What's iZombie About?

The series follows Olivia "Liv" Moore, a medical resident whose life takes a sharp turn when she's turned into a zombie. To maintain her humanity, she must consume human brains—and each brain gives her the deceased person's memories and personality traits. Liv lands a job at the city morgue, where she teams up with her boss, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, and detective Clive Babineaux to solve murders. Each episode becomes a puzzle as Liv uses the victim's memories to crack the case.

As the seasons progress, the stakes escalate. In Season 2, Liv and Ravi investigate a sociopathic hitman and a supposed zombie sighting. Season 3 reveals a larger zombie population in Seattle, including a secret army. By Season 4, Seattle is walled off to contain 10,000 zombies, and the police department works alongside zombie detectives. The final season pits Liv against the U.S. military while Ravi races to find a cure.

Cast and Characters

The show boasts a talented ensemble, led by Rose McIver (known for Ghosts) as Liv. Malcolm Goodwin (Reacher) plays Clive, Rahul Kohli (The Haunting of Bly Manor) is Ravi, and Robert Buckley (One Tree Hill) portrays Major. David Anders (The Vampire Diaries) brings villainy as Blaine, with Aly Michalka (Easy A) as Peyton, Bryce Hodgson as Don E, and Robert Knepper (Prison Break) as Angus.
