At the Toronto International Film Festival, Invasion actor Shamier Anderson—who plays Trevante Cole—sat down with Collider to discuss his upcoming project Call Me Tim. When asked about the possibility of a fourth season, Anderson was candid about the toll the show has taken on him. "Oh man, three seasons for me was more than enough," he admitted. "The scale of that show is so, so gargantuan. We film all over the world. We film for maybe six to eight months, and it's a lot of work."
Anderson elaborated on the grueling production schedule, which has him jetting between continents for different episodes. "If I'm doing Episode 2, I'm shooting Episode 2 in Morocco. Then I got to go on a plane, shoot Episode 5 in London, England," he explained. "There's a lot of traveling, and it's taxing on the body and on the family."
Despite the physical and emotional demands, Anderson didn't completely shut the door on returning. "That said, to answer your core question, I never thought it would keep going because of how expensive it is," he said. "It's just an expensive show to make. But I hope they keep making it over and over again because I love the show."
The actor also praised Apple TV+'s commitment to high-budget sci-fi, noting that the streamer's investment is visible on screen. "Oh, it's Apple. They've got money," he joked, echoing a sentiment shared by many fans who appreciate the platform's willingness to spend big on ambitious projects. This suggests that if Invasion doesn't return, it won't be due to a lack of funds.
Apple TV+ has yet to officially announce whether Invasion will be renewed or cancelled, but with Season 3 having aired over a year ago, the odds seem slim. The show's future remains uncertain, but Anderson's comments offer a glimpse into the challenges of bringing such a sprawling story to life.
