Prime Video's animated musical sensation Hazbin Hotel is officially set to close its doors after Season 5, and star Erika Henningsen—who voices the eternally optimistic Charlie Morningstar—is already feeling the emotional weight of that final curtain call. During a recent appearance on Collider Ladies Night, Henningsen shared her heartfelt reaction to the news that the beloved series would conclude with its upcoming fifth season.

For Henningsen, Hazbin Hotel has been far more than just a job. It arrived at a pivotal moment in her life. "So much post-COVID has had Hazbin at the backdrop," she explained. "The first job I got after COVID was Hazbin. Since getting Hazbin, my whole life in many ways has changed, on a personal and professional level." She described the show as a "glimmer" that things would be okay, adding, "I have such a soft spot for the show as a marker for an era of time, because I think it will probably be a decade of time."

Prime Video's 'Fourth Wing' Adaptation Could Be the Epic Fantasy Answer to 'Game of Thrones'
Prime Video's upcoming 'Fourth Wing' series, based on Rebecca Yarros's bestselling books, has all the ingredients to become the next epic fantasy phenomenon.

Indeed, with Season 1 debuting in January 2024 and subsequent seasons spaced out—Season 2 arrived after a 21-month wait, and creator Vivienne Medrano has indicated a similar gap before Season 3—the series could easily stretch into 2030. That timeline means Henningsen will have spent more than a decade voicing Charlie. "A massive portion of my adult life has always had this in the background, and that's kind of sad to think about," she admitted.

Yet the sadness is tempered by gratitude. Henningsen emphasized how rare it is for a show to end on its creator's own terms. "I'm so happy for Viv," she said. "It will end the way Viv wants, and I'll get to see a character from beginning, middle, to end. That's so special." In an era of abrupt cancellations, Medrano's ability to craft a deliberate conclusion is a gift—both for the cast and the show's passionate fanbase.

And that fanbase isn't going anywhere. Medrano's "Hellaverse" includes both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, the latter of which will premiere the first half of its 15-episode third season on Prime Video in Fall 2026. The interconnected universe leaves the door open for spin-offs, movies, or crossovers. "I pray that there are spin-offs and movies and crossovers," Henningsen said, echoing the hopes of many fans.

Even without additional projects, Hazbin Hotel has already cemented its cultural footprint. The show's massive convention presence—packing auditoriums with devoted fans—proves its staying power. "The show will never go away," Henningsen declared. "It has the lasting power of many years over."

As production continues on the remaining seasons, fans can look forward to more of Charlie's journey—and perhaps a few surprises along the way. For now, Henningsen is savoring every moment. "I feel like I'm already kind of looking ahead to that moment when we record the last episode of Season 5," she said, "and just going, like, wait."
