Mathematical! Finn the human and Jake the dog are back for brand-new, low-stakes adventures in the Land of Ooo. Adventure Time: Side Quests arrives on Hulu and Disney+ on June 29, bringing the beloved duo to streaming for the first time. Collider has an exclusive sneak peek that captures the duo's signature blend of whimsy and mayhem.
In the clip, Finn picks up a crossbow for the first time—with predictably chaotic results. After Jake helps him load an arrow, Finn fires wildly, missing the apple he aimed for but accidentally hitting a random guy in the woods. Instead of learning caution, the pair declare themselves “crossbros” and go on a spree, shooting random objects and assigning point values. Their fun attracts a mysterious figure, but they're too busy celebrating to notice.
This lighter, standalone format defines Side Quests. It's designed as a companion to the original series, not interfering with the finale or Distant Lands specials. With a fresh art style, Finn and Jake will party with cloud people, face the Ice King, brave danger, and get pulverized—all while reuniting with fan favorites like Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, and BMO.
Nate Cash, an Emmy-nominated veteran of the original show, developed and showran Side Quests. His animation credits include SpongeBob SquarePants, Tiny Toons Looniversity, and directing all ten episodes of Over the Garden Wall. The voice cast returns in full force: John DiMaggio as Jake, Tom Kenny as Ice King, Olivia Olson as Marceline, and Hynden Walch as Princess Bubblegum. Niki Yang reprises BMO and also directs episodes. Sasha Knight takes over as a younger Finn, replacing Jeremy Shada.
