David Tennant has a warning for Good Omens fans: don't expect a happy start for Crowley in the upcoming finale movie. The beloved demon, played by Tennant, is in a dark place when the one-off special kicks off on Prime Video next month.

The road to the finale has been anything but smooth. Originally planned as a third six-episode season, the show faced major upheaval after co-creator Neil Gaiman was accused of serious sexual assault. Gaiman and his production company have no active role in the finale, though he contributed to early writing. The final installment was condensed into a single long episode, leaving fans anxious about how the story of Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and Crowley would conclude.

Speaking to SFX, Tennant revealed that Crowley is in a grim state when the finale begins. "Crowley has pretty much hit rock bottom at the start of this story. Friendless, car-less, and hopeless. He's now sleeping in an old sleeping bag in an alleyway," Tennant said. He added, "But still not far from the bookshop. He's keeping an eye. He's very much a free agent now. He bears no allegiance to Heaven, Hell, or anyone else. He's not in a great place..."

This bleak setup follows the emotional Season 2 finale, where Aziraphale and Crowley parted ways after a tense confrontation. With Crowley now a lone wolf, the finale promises high stakes and unpredictable twists. For fans who love a good underdog story, this could be a thrilling ride.

Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, the cast and crew have rallied to deliver a satisfying conclusion. Sheen confirmed that a screening of the finale took place in December 2025, and he was moved by the result. "We had a screening last night. I laughed, and I cried," Sheen said. He acknowledged the challenge of condensing six episodes into one, but praised the direction, performances, and visual style.
