Superhero movies are notorious for debuting new costumes with every sequel—whether to reflect a character's evolution or to sell fresh merchandise. That's why the latest set photos from Man of Tomorrow are turning heads: David Corenswet's Superman appears to be wearing the exact same suit from James Gunn's Superman.
Photographed filming in Atlanta, Georgia—doubling for Metropolis—Corenswet was seen hovering above a city street at night. The suit, complete with red trunks and a bright blue base, looks nearly identical to his previous look. The only possible tweak is a slightly different cape, but otherwise, it's a familiar sight for fans.
This shouldn't come as a total shock. Back in October 2025, Corenswet's Superman costume was reportedly removed from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood exhibit, with a note stating it was in use for production. Now we know why: the sequel is keeping the same threads.
Who's Joining the Cast?
Alongside Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult returns as Lex Luthor, Superman's imprisoned arch-nemesis. Rachel Brosnahan reprises her role as Lois Lane, Clark's girlfriend and fellow Daily Planet journalist. The ensemble also includes Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer.
New additions bring fresh threats and allies. Lars Eidinger plays Brainiac, a superintelligent alien android from the planet Colu. Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart/Green Lantern, fresh off his role in the HBO series Lanterns. Milly Alcock appears as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, Superman's cousin, who will headline her own film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, this summer after a cameo in Superman.

What's the Threat?
Brainiac's arrival promises a major challenge for the Man of Steel. The villain's cold, calculating nature could push Superman to his limits, especially with Lex Luthor still lurking in the shadows. James Gunn has also teased a comic-accurate warsuit for Luthor, which you can read about here: James Gunn Unveils Lex Luthor's Comic-Accurate Warsuit in Superman: Man of Tomorrow.
With a stacked cast and a familiar yet iconic costume, Man of Tomorrow is shaping up to be a must-see event. The film hits theaters on July 9, 2027.
