Rhoades, who was at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting the new Netflix series Below, couldn't spill much about the upcoming season—she playfully admitted it's the one topic she's sworn to secrecy on. But she did confirm that filming is actively underway, and she's heading straight back to set after TIFF. This aligns with Netflix's earlier announcement that production kicked off over the summer, but Rhoades's comments suggest the shoot is still in full swing.
"It's the one thing I can never talk about, but I'm sharing the couch with two alumni, so it's very exciting," Rhoades said, referencing her Below co-stars Josh Hartnett and Mackenzie Davis, both of whom have appeared in Black Mirror before. "It's so much fun. I mean, honestly, we're excited to be shooting again. I'm going right back from here, so more to come."
Creator Charlie Brooker has already teased that Season 8 will be "more Black Mirror than ever," a promise that's both thrilling and vaguely terrifying. Beyond that, details remain locked tighter than a government server. We don't know the cast, the episode titles, or even a release date. But the fact that production is moving along is a good sign for fans eagerly awaiting their next dose of tech-fueled anxiety.
