The Land of Ooo is gearing up for another round of whimsical escapades as Adventure Time: Side Quests returns for its second season. In the clip from Episode 4, titled "Tiny Negs," Jake decides to hire a bard to compose a song celebrating Finn's heroic deeds. But things take a hilariously unexpected turn when the minstrel's lyrics start taking jabs at Jake instead. The footage shows Jake trying to share a vulnerable moment with Finn, but the 12-year-old is too busy grooving to the new tune. With a little encouragement from BMO, Jake reluctantly joins in, only to find himself the butt of the bard's musical mockery.
As the song praises Finn with high-energy affirmations, Jake can't help but get into the rhythm. But soon, the lyrics take a sharp turn, calling Jake "lumpy," "not cool," and even suggesting he "will eat bugs." Sweat beads on his forehead as the insults hit home, and he makes a hasty exit, presumably to give that bard a piece of his mind.
This season promises more of the bite-sized adventures that made the original series so beloved. From wrestling toads to facing off against baby gladiators, Finn and Jake are up to their usual antics. The trailer also teases a dream-world quest to defeat a demon (much to Princess Bubblegum's chagrin) and a zipline that stretches across all of Ooo using Jake's elastic limbs.
The voice cast returns with Sasha Knight as Finn, alongside series veterans John DiMaggio (Jake), Tom Kenny (Ice King), Niki Yang (BMO), Hynden Walch (Princess Bubblegum), and Olivia Olson (Marceline). Emmy nominee Nate Cash is back as showrunner, ensuring the same charm and creativity that earned the first season a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
