Disney's D23 fan event in Anaheim was a treasure trove of announcements, from the X-Men cast reveal to a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer and a third Zootopia. But tucked among the big reveals was a magical surprise: the voice cast for the studio's next animated fantasy, Hexed, just got a whole lot starrier.
Walton Goggins, known for his scene-stealing turn as The Ghoul in Fallout, and two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster are joining the project. Goggins will voice a three-eyed cat named Beef Roger Crummchuk, while Foster takes on the role of a devious witch queen. Foster, who began her career with Disney, said in a statement, "It is so much fun to return to Disney because that’s where my career began."
They'll join Hailee Steinfeld, who leads the film as Billie, a teenager who discovers she has magical powers, setting off a life-changing adventure with her mother. Rashida Jones, Tracey Ullman, and Stephen Fry round out the cast.
Directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn in her solo directorial debut, Hexed comes from a storyteller with deep Disney roots—she was head of story on Raya and the Last Dragon and co-directed Wish. The film will be accompanied by the short Lilo & Scratch, also co-directed by Veerasunthorn.
Mark your calendars: Hexed arrives in theaters on November 25, 2026—exactly 100 days from now. That's a prime Thanksgiving slot, and Disney is clearly betting on this original story to draw families.
Disney has already had a stellar 2026 at the animated box office. While the original Hoppers found success, it's Toy Story 5 that's been the juggernaut, crossing $1.114 billion worldwide after nine weekends. Hexed will look to continue that momentum, though it faces stiff competition in the holiday corridor.
