Taylor Sheridan's Tulsa King is far from finished. Just weeks before the Season 4 premiere, Paramount+ has officially renewed the hit gangster drama for a fifth season — and this time, the action is heading back to the Big Apple.
The renewal comes with a major production shift: filming for Season 5 has already begun in New York City, moving the entire production from Atlanta to the city where Dwight Manfredi's story first began. The move is a symbolic homecoming for the character, who was exiled to Tulsa after serving 25 years in prison. Now, his empire-building journey comes full circle as he returns to his Mafia roots.
Drew Brown, EVP at Paramount Television Studios, expressed excitement about the move: "We are thrilled to bring fans even more of this incredible series, and to be shooting the next season of Tulsa King in New York, where Dwight Manfredi's story will continue to evolve. We're proud of the work we've done in Georgia, and it remains an important venue for us."
Season 4 is set to premiere on October 16, and the early renewal is a strong vote of confidence from the streamer. The show has been a standout in Sheridan's growing TV empire, which also includes Yellowstone, Lioness, and Landman. For fans of Sheridan's gritty storytelling, Lioness Season 3 has already proven his spy thriller is a streaming juggernaut, and Tulsa King continues that trend.
The cast for Season 5 will see Sylvester Stallone reprise his role as Dwight, alongside returning favorites like Martin Starr, Jay Will, Vincent Piazza, Annabella Sciorra, Frank Grillo, Neal McDonough, and Garrett Hedlund. Gretchen Mol joins as a series regular for Season 4, adding more star power to the ensemble.
Behind the scenes, Terence Winter remains head writer and executive producer, with Sheridan, Stallone, and a team of producers including David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Thomas Kelly, and Keith Cox. Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios produce the series.
For those who can't get enough of Stallone's mob boss, the move to New York opens up fresh storytelling possibilities. The city has always been a character in its own right in crime dramas, and seeing Dwight navigate the streets he once knew will add a new layer of tension. As the show gears up for its fifth season, fans can also catch other Paramount+ offerings like Ben Affleck's sci-fi thriller Paycheck or Anne Hathaway's Colossal to tide them over.
With production already underway, the wait for Season 5 might not be too long. But first, fans will get to see what's next for Dwight in Season 4, premiering exclusively on Paramount+ this October. Stay tuned for more updates as the story continues to evolve.
