NBC is giving fans a peek at its upcoming sitcom Newlyweds, which brings real-life couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly back to the small screen. The network has dropped a batch of first-look photos, and they promise a blend of charm, chaos, and late-life romance.
The series, which premieres Friday, October 23, as part of NBC's comedy lineup, follows James (Daly), a buttoned-up professor, and Jeanie (Leoni), a free spirit, who tie the knot after a whirlwind courtship. But their bliss is complicated by James's ex-wife, Claudia, played by the legendary Jamie Lee Curtis, who takes an instant disliking to Jeanie. Also joining the cast are Emma Meisel and Ignacio Diaz-Silverio as Jeanie's kids, Poppy and Lolo, plus Bill O'Neill as James's assistant and Al Madrigal as his best friend, Dan—the matchmaker who now finds himself in Claudia's crosshairs.
Leoni and Daly first met on the CBS drama Madam Secretary, where they played a married couple. Their on-screen chemistry translated into real life, and they began dating in 2014, eventually marrying in 2025. Now, they're bringing that partnership to a comedy setting, which should be a treat for fans who've followed their relationship.
This isn't the duo's first rodeo in the sitcom world. Daly spent eight seasons on the beloved NBC comedy Wings, playing Joe Hackett, while Leoni headlined The Naked Truth for three seasons. Curtis, meanwhile, is no stranger to multi-camera laughs, having starred in Anything But Love alongside the late Richard Lewis. The trio's combined experience bodes well for Newlyweds, which is co-created by Curtis and Gail Lerner, a veteran of Will & Grace.
